New Primary School Opens at Berewood Development
Newlands Primary Academy welcomes 315 pupils with state-of-the-art facilities
A brand new primary school has officially opened its doors at the Berewood housing development near Waterlooville, marking Hampshire County Council's third new school opening this academic year.
Newlands Primary Academy welcomed its first pupils back in September 2025, but the official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on 30th January, with councillors and education leaders celebrating the milestone.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
The purpose-built two-storey academy features 11 classrooms, a hall, studio, specialist practical spaces, and kitchen facilities. Once at full capacity, the school will provide 315 places for children aged 4 to 11.
The school also includes a resourced provision for eight pupils with special educational needs.
"We are delighted to officially open Newlands Primary Academy – a modern, welcoming and high-quality school."
— Cllr Steve Forster, Executive Member for Education
