Friday night, nobody’s cooking, and somebody has said the word “pizza”. So where do you order from?
Our old guide had a problem. Its number one, Giorgio’s Pizza in The Precinct, no longer shows up on Google Maps or the food hygiene register (see the FAQ below). So we started again, and found eight pizza places around Waterlooville, from a pizza-only specialist to a stone-baked newcomer and a well-run Domino’s.
For each one we pulled the live Google rating and review count, read what customers mention most, and checked the official food hygiene rating. We also noted who delivers late, who has a gluten-free menu, and who does vegan cheese. Every number is correct at the time of writing (25 September 2026).
How we ranked them: highest Google star rating first, with ties broken by number of reviews. Places with fewer than 50 reviews go after the rest.

Get directionsIt’s effectively a dead heat at the top: Golden Grill on London Road scores 4.8 from 184 reviews, and Yard Pizza scores 4.8 from 182. Golden Grill takes first on the tie-break by just two reviews. It’s a pizza, kebab and burger shop, and Google’s summary says reviewers rate the pizzas as well as the kebabs, with generous portions, reasonable prices and a clean, tidy shop. Kind staff and quality food come up 5 times each.
Good to know: it opens at 3pm and runs until 11pm, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. It’s open every day. Phone 023 9435 1370. It trades from 242 London Road, where our old guide listed Pars/Soofie Kebab & Pizza House, and we couldn’t yet find it on the FSA hygiene register under its new name.

Get directionsIf you want a place that only does pizza, this is the one. Yard Pizza in the Purbrook Chase Precinct scores 4.8 from 182 reviews. Toppings are mentioned in 17 reviews and value in 12. It does the novelty stuff too: a 20-inch half-and-half and a “yard of pizza”. Five reviews mention Domino’s by name.
It’s also the one for vegans: vegan cheese and vegan options both get mentions.

It’s a restaurant and cocktail bar (cocktails are mentioned in 77 reviews) with tapas and pizzas on the menu. Where it stands out: its gluten-free menu is mentioned in 17 reviews and vegetarian options in 18. Polite staff come up 19 times.

Polite staff come up 17 times and polite drivers 4. “Food temperature” comes up in 9 reviews, which for a delivery is exactly what you want to hear. Online ordering gets mentions too.

Get directionsWith 41 reviews it’s under our 50-review line, but Unit Six on Meadow Parade, Hambledon Road is worth knowing about: 4.8 stars for stone-baked pizzas. Reviewers mention fresh toppings, a good topping selection, garlic bread and a tandoori paneer pizza. “Welcoming atmosphere” comes up 9 times.

Fungi Pizza

Get directionsFungi Pizza on London Road is new: it has 16 reviews, all five stars, and it’s still awaiting its first food hygiene inspection. Reviewers praise fresh ingredients and flavour. Too early to call, but one to try.

The verdict
For a pizza specialist, order from Yard Pizza in Purbrook Chase. It’s the pizza-only place, it’s the one for vegans, and it does a 20-inch half-and-half. Golden Grill on London Road is joint top and open until midnight at weekends. To sit down, especially if you’re gluten-free, go to Four London Road in Horndean. For a reliable late delivery, the London Road Domino’s is open until midnight every night.
