AI Consultants near Waterlooville: What One Does and Who to Call

The short answer

An AI consultant looks at how your business runs, finds the repetitive computer work that software could do, and either advises you or sets it up. For a small business the useful kind is the one who installs it and makes it work, not one who hands you a report.

Dean Keating does this from Horndean, a few miles north of Waterlooville. He is also the publisher of this guide. The first call is free. Call Dean or book the free AI call.

What an AI consultant does for a small business

Finds the work worth automating. Enquiries, quotes, bookings, invoices, chasing payments, weekly reports, copying details from one system to another.

Sets up AI agents to do it. An agent logs into the tools you already use and does the job from start to finish, rather than waiting to be asked a question.

Agrees what needs a person. Some steps should still be approved by you. A sensible setup makes that clear.

Shows you how to run it. You should finish knowing what the system does and how to change it.

How Dean Keating's service works

His website describes three steps. First, a call to look at the business and where AI could make a useful difference. Second, he agrees the scope, tools and costs with you, then builds and installs the agents. Third, you test it together on real tasks and he shows you how to manage it.

The service is described as hands-on and installed for you. He is based in Horndean and works with businesses anywhere in the UK. His website says he uses the same systems in his own businesses.

What it costs

There is no published price list. The cost depends on what is being automated and is agreed after the first call. That call is free, and his website says you leave with a plan you can use with or without him.

How to judge an AI consultant

Ask what they have built for their own business. Ask which of your jobs they would not automate, and why. Ask who looks after it once it is running, and what you own if you stop. Be wary of anyone who promises staff savings before they have looked at how you work.

Who else is listed locally

We searched Google Maps on 9 October 2026 for "AI consultant" and "AI automation" businesses with a Waterlooville-area address (PO7 and PO8). We found no business in the area listed for AI work that has any Google reviews, so there is nothing we can fairly rank, and we have not published a ranking.

Two listings in the area describe themselves as AI services: Dean Keating in Horndean, who publishes this guide, and AI Email Genius in Clanfield. Neither has Google reviews. Other AI consultancies that come up in a search are based in Portsmouth and elsewhere in Hampshire. If a local firm should be listed here, tell us.

Is it worth it for a small business?

It is worth a conversation if someone in your business spends hours a week on the same computer tasks. It is less useful where every job is different or depends on being there in person. See AI automation for small businesses in Hampshire for the jobs to look at first, and AI chatbots and AI receptionists for how the different tools compare.
