Seven public displays with confirmed 2026 dates sit within reach of Waterlooville, from HMS Sultan on 29 October to Wickham and Petersfield on 7 November.
The closest public displays with confirmed 2026 dates are HMS Sultan in Gosport on 29 October, Funland on Hayling Island on 30 October, the Ship Inn at Langstone on 1 November, Portsmouth's Southsea Common display on 4 November, AFC Portchester on 6 November, and Wickham Scouts and Petersfield Round Table on 7 November. Bonfire Night itself is Thursday 5 November. Check the organiser on the day, as displays can be cancelled for weather.
The displays at a glance
Bonfire Night itself falls on Thursday 5 November 2026, but most organised displays near Waterlooville happen on the nights either side, and four of the seven come before the 5th. Every event below has a 2026 date on a page we opened and read on 28 October 2026: the organiser's own page, a ticket page, a Visit Hampshire tourism listing or, for Wickham, an AllEvents listing. We could not open the Visit Portsmouth page for the Southsea display, so its details come from Visit Hampshire. Where a source did not state a time or price, the table says so rather than guessing, and details can change, so check with the organiser before you travel.
Thursday 29 October: HMS Sultan, Gosport
HMS Sultan's Bonfire and Fireworks Night marks the shore establishment's 70th anniversary. According to the Visit Hampshire listing and the ticket page, parking opens at 5pm and gates open at 5.30pm. The bonfire is lit at 7.45pm and the fireworks start at 8.30pm. The ticket page says gates close at 10.30pm, while Visit Hampshire says 10.45pm. Booking is online. The ticket page lists standard prices of £25 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), £10 for an adult and £5 for a child aged 3 to 15, with under-3s free. Parking is limited and must be pre-booked at £5. Funfair rides are charged separately.
Friday 30 October: Fright Night at Funland, Hayling Island
Funland on Hayling Island runs a Halloween Fright Night that ends with fireworks, which the park calls "our best Firework display yet". Admission is from 4.30pm and the event runs from 5pm to 9pm. Funland lists tickets at £20 per person, which includes the park, an unlimited ride wristband and maze entry, and says gate admission is £25. No fireworks time is given. The Visit Hampshire listing shows the same price and times for 30 October.
Sunday 1 November: The Ship Inn, Langstone
The Ship Inn at Langstone holds its annual fireworks by the water, with live music from 5pm, outside bars and a BBQ. The pub's page says the fireworks are between 6pm and 6:30pm, weather and tide dependent. Visit Hampshire lists the display at 6:30pm and describes it as a free family event, with no advance booking mentioned. The pub is on Langstone Road, PO9 1RD, and its phone number is 023 9247 1719.
Wednesday 4 November: Portsmouth Fireworks, Southsea Common
The city's main display is on Southsea Common. The listing says the site opens at 4pm with stalls, family entertainment, hot food and a funfair, the fireworks begin at 7pm and the event ends at 8pm. There is a welfare tent with ear defenders and a lost-child point. The Visit Hampshire listing does not state an entry price. We could not open the event's Visit Portsmouth page, so these details come from Visit Hampshire; check with the organiser or Visit Portsmouth for prices and any changes before you travel. Expect crowds and plan your journey.
Friday 6 November: AFC Portchester Fireworks and Laser Show
AFC Portchester's annual fireworks and laser show is at Cranleigh Road, PO16 9DP, from 6pm to 10pm on the ticket page. Visit Hampshire lists tickets at £10 for adults, £6 for under-18s and £30 for a family bundle, plus limited VIP tickets at £15 for adults and £10 for under-18s with a dedicated viewing area and light refreshments. Neither page gives a firing time, and there is covered standing and seating in the stadium.
Saturday 7 November: Wickham Scouts and Petersfield Round Table
The 1st Wickham Scout Group's family bonfire and fireworks is at Glebe Field, off School Road, Wickham. The AllEvents listing for the Scouts' event gives gates at 6pm, the bonfire at about 6:30pm and fireworks at about 7pm, with adults £5, children £2 and under-3s free. This comes from that listing alone, so check with 1st Wickham Scout Group before you go.
Further north, the 35th Petersfield Round Table display has gates open at Bell Hill at 5.30pm, the bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm, according to the Visit Hampshire listing. Advance tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for children and £20 for a family. On the day they are £12, £6 and £25. Children are aged 5 to 15, under-5s go free, and a family ticket covers two adults and two children.
Not yet confirmed for 2026: check before you go
The Dell at East Meon is listed for 7 November 2026, with a bonfire, fireworks, food and drink. Visit Hampshire says full timings and ticket information have yet to be published. It adds that last year's tickets sold out in advance and dogs were not permitted in 2025.
We could not find a confirmed 2026 date for a public display in Waterlooville, Cowplain, Purbrook, Denmead or Horndean, or for the Emsworth, Rowlands Castle or Thorney Island displays that ran in earlier years. If your school, scout group or club runs one, check its own page.
Weather and cancellations
Displays can be postponed or cancelled for weather and safety reasons, and some, like the Ship Inn's, also depend on the tide. Check the organiser's page or social media on the day before you set off.
Looking after pets
The RSPCA's advice on pets and fireworks suggests walking dogs in daylight, making a safe space with toys, closing windows and curtains and checking pets are microchipped. It says to keep cats indoors after dark, bring small pets such as rabbits indoors during firework season, put on music or the TV, and not to take dogs to fireworks displays or tie them up outside.
The law on fireworks in England
The gov.uk guide to fireworks and the law says you cannot buy adult fireworks if you are under 18 and that you must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on Bonfire Night, when the limit is midnight. It also says you must not set off or throw fireworks, including sparklers, in the street or other public places. Registered sellers can sell fireworks from 15 October to 10 November, and the guide says you can be fined an unlimited amount or imprisoned for up to six months for selling or using fireworks illegally, and could get an on-the-spot fine of £90.
